FAQ

  • Why are periods written in the feminine?

The rules of the game of Mille Pas are written in the feminine because each player will embody a woman in their professional life for the duration of the game.

  • Can men play?

Of course! It is even recommended. The Thousand Steps allow you to experience the professional life of a woman and to confront certain situations. Through this role-playing game mechanic, players develop their creativity and are led to find solutions.

  • Why are the cards in gender-neutral language?

We couldn't make a game to combat inequality using language that conveys sexism. We simply used feminine nouns to talk about women and the midpoint for the plural. Indeed, as Eliane Viennot, emeritus professor of French Renaissance literature, explains : "The masculine form called ʺgenericʺ is not: it makes women disappear not only from texts, but from minds."

  • How are the testimonies of the 700 women presented?

We read, reread, and classified the testimonies we received from November 2020 to January 2021. This classification resulted in 8 categories that show the diversity of situations: money, work/life balance, self-esteem, motherhood/childcare, power, recruitment/career development, sexism, stereotypes. We chose to include an anecdote-quote on each RED LIGHT card to give these women's voices a voice and raise awareness. Their voices are also present on each GREEN LIGHT card in the form of solutions.

  • From what age can you play?

The rules of the game are easy to understand but this game addresses sensitive subjects. We recommend playing Mille pas from the age of 12.

  • How many people does it take to play?

A minimum of 2 players is required. For a maximum of 8 people, we recommend.

  • What is the extension for?

This is NOT possible! This grumpy expansion is a supplement to the game of Thousand Steps. It allows you to make the game more difficult and extend its duration. You can also simply read the testimonials.
